My twig tree in daylight. The glitter paint doesn't show very well, but it needs more anyway. I hung up some of my favorite pieces to see what it could look like: a bird from my sister's old Christmas wreath, a formica tag from an art trade I did with Katie Kendrick eons ago, and some little bits and pieces of mine. I like this idea very much. And it costs nothing. And it's, well, ecological!
I love your twig tree - I have one in my lounge room just with little faery lights on it (I got the idea from Daisy) and I love nothing better than to turn the big lights off and sit with my twinkling faery tree !

Wonderful twig tree! We had one last year, using willow branches. I hung Christmas ornaments on them, stuffed them all in an old French urn and covered the bottom of the branches with antique ribbon. Much less mess than a tree and perfect for a small apartment. Also, as you said, very good for the environment.
ReplyDeleteI just love this.
ReplyDeleteSimple and elegant and natural...your signature style! And gentle and "bird friendly". This so refreshing and lovely to see Colette...
ReplyDeletepretty! a girl at the trunk show had that same display, but hers were on stripped twigs (my guess from the floral supply)
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about the glitter-to get the look you want=its gonna need more.
I have a recipe for making them look like they are ice covered twigs...somewhere! it involves borax and every year I say I'm gonna make them and every year I forget until the last minute!
I like your twiggy tree! Last year I made a tree from an upside down tomato cage! Saw it on DIY !
