Duck tales

A fellow decoy duck lover had a magnificent collection of about 16 decoys. She had them lined up on a very long windowsill. I got used to seeing them there. One day, I walked into her living room, and the decoys had vanished.

"Where are the ducks??" I asked, a little anxiously (I really liked her decoys).

"In the wooden chest over there," she said. "I got tired of coming home in the evenings and seeing them sitting there, staring at me. They were getting on my nerves."

I'm happy to say though that their banishment was only occasional. I never get tired of mine because I only have a few.

  1. I am a "collector" of old things...but I try to limit myself. For instance, I have the old blue canning jars. When my friends see more than 2 of something, they ask "so are you collecting that now?". Some things I never tire of enjoying and when I relocate them to a different spot, my friends panic thinking I have either donated or sold the items!

I love your blog and I am a frequent visitor!

    It reminds me of him.
