Sunday meanderings

The doll in the previous post is going to live in [edit: that would be Georgia! as in peach state, Atlanta and Sherman!] not S. Carolina. I am so happy and grateful, it makes me realize that I am now, for sure, a full-time artist. So I'll leave you with a sneak peek of a work in progress.

I'm working on a very old, rescued pillow cover that was frayed and aged. I laundered it and ironed it with rose water before I started working on it. I call this one a "story cloth."

Old, frayed, torn, stained fabric... I don't know why I find it irresistible, find it so beautiful in its aged glory.

  4. You've always been a full time artist to my way of thinking. Love the soft, soulful work you've been posting recently.

  5. I love this idea, I did something similar on an old tablecloth once.. I love old fabrics too, I have suitcases full of vintage linen, frayed, torn and stained.. too good to throw away so I rescued it!
