I dyed the tags with coffee (mix instant coffee in a bowl of water and dip the tags in it) because I was going for a vintage/prim look, and hand-stitched the embellishments.

 Yesterday was a busy day. I was out and about for most of it (in, thankfully, beautiful weather), so work took a back seat. Almost. I managed to make these sweet little tags; they are stained with walnut ink, and the vintage crochet pieces, naturally aged, were a perfect complement. They're stitched by hand of course, pushing the needle through thick paper and cotton, but I managed not to hurt myself...

On a bright and sunny Friday, it occurs to me that March has come in like a lamb, which means, brace yourself, it will go out like a lion. Or maybe not. I don't believe these things are written in stone. Hope springs eternal.

In between projects, I make things. This one is a birthday something for an old friend of mine who loves potatoes. She has every potato cookbook known to woman, and every few years I like to make a potato something for her. I believe she will like this.

Since yesterday we've been enjoying an Indian summer. Yesterday's painting seems to reflect that. The bird wasn't suposed to be in this scene, but it insisted until I gave in.

I thought I'd be over the tag art obsession by now -- temporarily, of course -- but the making of them continues. Still, I can think of worse little obsessions.
    I'm thinking I should start organizing my stuff for Glitter Market, given that there's only three weeks left before I leave for OKC. I'll be closing my Etsy shop while I'm away since a lot of my stock will be going with me, and, one hopes, none of it will return with me!
   

 In other news, my birthday is on Friday, and since I was actually born on a Friday, it feels a little special.

 My doglet is going home Wednesday evening. I'm missing her already. We spent a lot of time together today.
