With Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day on the horizon, my invisible assistants and I have been making original, one-of-a-kind tags, listed today in my Etsy shop.

 Friday tag art.

New listing in my Etsy shop.

I dyed the tags with coffee (mix instant coffee in a bowl of water and dip the tags in it) because I was going for a vintage/prim look, and hand-stitched the embellishments.

The crochet pieces and scapular are from Manto Fev.

 Tags, tags, and more tags.

If you know me, you know that I love making these little works of art, telling strange little stories...
My tag box is overflowing so I've been putting together tag collections.
Just listed in my Etsy shop, a collection of 10.

 Happy weekend to you.

Still working as deadlines grow nearer. Rummaging through my supplies to find things I need I came across these Nostalgiques tags that I had bought years ago, along with other Nostalgiques products. They were designed by Rebecca Sower, so it's no surprise that I loved them so much, and still do.

 I created collages on them.

One of the things I like to do: "stamp" with Distress Stains to create splats for background. Don't stamp too hard , though,or you'll have to deal with flying ink.

I blotted the pink one with facial tissue, but let the orange one dry by itself. I tried these Stains because I use Distress ink pads almost exclusively, and I confess I truly like them. The only drawback is that the colours are not as good on manila tags. They work best on white backgrounds.

On a bright and sunny Friday, it occurs to me that March has come in like a lamb, which means, brace yourself, it will go out like a lion. Or maybe not. I don't believe these things are written in stone. Hope springs eternal.

In other news, I have a new discount coupon in my shop. New items are added a couple of times a week.

What a blessing to have the sun pierce the greyness today. Every little bit helps!

In between projects, I make things. This one is a birthday something for an old friend of mine who loves potatoes. She has every potato cookbook known to woman, and every few years I like to make a potato something for her. I believe she will like this.

One potato, two potato, three potato.......

 The weather was untidy today.

I love my work. It may be feast or famine type work, but I love it all the same.
I also love dreaming up new ideas. Like this one. It may not be new, but it's new for me. And if you know me, you know that I'm mad about tags.

The weather is dulling my senses today -- wet, dishwater skies, a good day to make something fun. Christmas is around the corner, so in case I don't get around to it, I wish you a very merry one, but most of all I wish you peace within because that's where universal peace starts....

Les Girls, or The Postal Sisters

This is one of my all-time favourite rubber stamps [made by the inimitable Teesha Moore].

Cheers!

I thought I'd be over the tag art obsession by now -- temporarily, of course -- but the making of them continues. Still, I can think of worse little obsessions.
I'm thinking I should start organizing my stuff for Glitter Market, given that there's only three weeks left before I leave for OKC. I'll be closing my Etsy shop while I'm away since a lot of my stock will be going with me, and, one hopes, none of it will return with me!

In other news, my birthday is on Friday, and since I was actually born on a Friday, it feels a little special.

 I'm told summer has ended...

It was so strange today being without the doglet. Getting up in the morning and no Genie to take out on her walk. I may just have to continue the morning walks on my own... Apparently she was a little confused when she woke up this morning back in her own home, but she's adjusting quickly. And visiting on Sunday.

I learned something though - when a being depends on you for everything, you put his or her needs before your own, without thought or question.

My doglet is going home Wednesday evening. I'm missing her already. We spent a lot of time together today.

To distract myself from her imminent departure, I made a pile of tags this evening.

Between the doglet and the new computer, I've been up to my ears.
Not much to say right now so I'll leave you with this.

This cutie was photographed eating watermelon in the park this summer.
I turned it into a collage on a huge tag for her doting grandpa.
