A Bird in the Hand

I looked out of the glass doors and asked the doorman what the weather was like today.
"It's warm," he said, "much warmer than yesterday."
"Nice," I said.
"It's hovering around 0 degrees [celcius]," he offered.

What I could see for myself, however, was the dark grey sky.
