I was up late last night finishing the last of Stieg Larsson's trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I couldn't put it down, so I stayed up until I finished it. By then I was wide awake, so I carved a nighthawk... it seemed appropriate and it relaxed me. The drawing is more approximate than exact; call it artistic licence.

I'll be going to the library to return the book and ferret out more to read. I am so grateful for our library system.

  1. very nice work. I love our library a bit to much. I had to hide my library card in order to finish projects, clean my house, feed my kids...on..and...on.

  3. I’m with you there...I “order” books online, reserve them and just wait for a phone call and go and get them...I love books and need something wonderful to read at all times.

  4. A great carving job! I wonder what the significance or symbolism of the night hawk would be??
