Dubious documents

[(c) colette copeland, available on eBay]
Still in Irish mode (see last post), I tackled the pile of vintage papers and ephemera that I brought back from Ireland, and set about making my own "dubious documents" in the manner of Nick Bantock. Along with Lenore Tawney, Bantock is a major influence on my collage work.
I used originals, so I took my time with them and made sure I had the design right first. When using an original document, the last thing I want to do is ruin it.

It was very satisfying.

.......now this is an example of when my heart goes pitter patter!....Absolutely love these....yes it must have been a bit scarey because there was no going back.Had that been me doing it, I would have had to practice on about ten copies first....and then wouldn't have got it right!....So pleased you are taking a short break, because I am still having to sit on my hands...and it's hard going!

I'm always in an Irish mood when it is time for Irish soda bread and tea!

  3. I love your dubious documents Colette, although I think of them as rejuvented. But "dubious documents" has a certain ring, doesn't it?
