Kind hearts. Tenderness. These hearts you made look kind and tender. I listened to an elderly lady today as I stood in a long line at my pharmacy. She carried an oxygen tank, tubes in her nose to breathe. I listened to her talk about her problems with her insurance company paying for her diabetes testing strips. $130.00 for a month of testing strips. This feeling of outrage swelled up in my gut Colette. My outrage at being helpless in the face of all this crap and injustice being piled on ordinary people! Our youth and elders! This sweet elderly woman was being squeezed on a lifesaving medical need that cost 130.00 by a stupid insurance company. She asked me this question almost in tears: "Why does it have to be this hard to just live day to day anymore in this country?" Love is our best hope.
