Embroidery

I may take up embroidery and do it regularly; this was so satisfying and I'm happy with the results. I made it up as I went along, which was the best part!
The piece is available in my Etsy shop.

  3. Hello Colette!! I wanted you to drop by my blog and see my new little shoppe I opened yesterday. Google sponsors it and it's FREE...Free to list, free to sell and I can use Google checkout for credit cards now (tiny fee) and they deposit right into my checking account. I love the look of it too...plus I can sell all types of small easy to ship antiques, books or my handmades. I just wanted to share because another venue is always "a good thing" I feel like "e*ay" is a little full of itself....Hope you're having a wonderful day! xxoo, Dawn

This reminds me very much of the days in school when my sister & I would sit cross legged on our beds and embroider on our jeans and overalls every night.

  10. I adore this piece Colette. When I was about 8 or 9 years old, my Mom took me to my grandmother's house (Rosa, of the Rosa & Josie's). She was the most wonderful seamstress~sewing most of the small towns wedding dresses. I wanted to learn how to embroidery. She taught me that day, and just this past Monday I bought some beautiful embroidery thread to start again, using it in my art. My favorite stitch was (and is) the French Knot. When I did it correctly, she praised me. Which was not easy, as she spoke German and only a very broken English. She was very reserved.
I love the small (shell?) button right under the picture~placed just so.
Hugs to you tonight....you helped me remember a good memory.
