Thoughts and meditations

A corner of my home.
The more violence in the outside world, the more I look to that inner part of me that can, if allowed, stay peaceful amid the chaos. By "peaceful" I mean strong, not giving in to despair or hopelessness or anger.

From my 2001 notebook, month of March: Yesterday I was miserable and felt my life had been wasted. Today I realized that since I had survived everything and still had love in my heart, nothing had been wasted.
THIS has to happen for THAT to happen. If we interfere, that is, go against it, resist or block it, force it, or get in our own way, THAT won't happen, or it will but it will get screwed up. And the order of things is broken, and we have to start all over again.

The whole point of my jottings was to record what I learned, and to remember and reinforce them by reading them once in a while. Today it seemed appropriate.
May you be safe.

  5. Darling Colette, you exude an inner strength and a sense of peace that I can see is also reflected in your home. Your words, as always, reflect the gentle spirit you are. I agree wholeheartedly with your definition of "peaceful". It is a hard lesson to learn but one we must in order to endure.
    Sending you love and light,
    Lisa

  9. You are so right to meg, here: we have to live through the things and find our own ways to cope with it. Like writing down our thoughts at the moment, have a corner in our home and/ or in our mind to retreat to.
At sertain points I just have to distance myself from the tv-news and try too keep up with the world by listening to the radionews. My minds need to get a break from all the (unwanted) pictures...
ps. write me your adress, pretty please? it got lost somewhere in transition...

  11. Colette, you are a constant inspiration. (And just yesterday I was saying to my husband how he'll be so happy when you're visiting us - as opposed to our current guests, who are well, exhausting). Love the soothing look of your photo. xo
