I like oil pastels, I really do. But I don't like using them. I find them hard to control. So I sat down and thought about that. Why do I feel that way? Am I afraid of them? Or it is because I'm too attached to my paint brush. I didn't come up with much of an answer, but I did hear my inner voice saying "don't try to control it."

So I gave up all control and went to work.

I believe that was my answer.
