Pictures are fine, but seeing the real thing is extraordinary.

Yesterday, a friend and I went to see the Basquiat retrospective at the Art Gallery of Ontario. It was worth every minute. Pictures don'tn really capture the vibrancy of the large-scale paintings. They have to be seen and I'm grateful to have had the opportuity.

 Today, work in progress.

  1. The Basquiat show was fabulous. Ray and I plan to go again. It made me want to paint, lol.
Have you seen the "biopic" made by Julien Schnabel? I've seen it many times. (the library has it) I wish that the library had the documentary "The Radiant Child" -- I don't want to pay $30 for it.... but if I do buy it, I'll lend it to you :)

    1. I've seen the biopic twice, the last time on PBS in conjuction with the AGO Basquiat show. It left me depressed, though... I would love to see The Radiant Child.
