I spent the better part of a day painting this. My butterfly-loving niece is a huge inspiration, and I couldn't resist making another painting. I became obsessed with it, wanting to keep going until it was finished, with the result that I neglected everything else. When I thought it was finished, I resumed my life.

Last night I looked at it for a long time and saw a very slight imbalance. This morning I corrected it by placing a butterfly in the bottom right-hand corner.

Now I'm happy!

Mixed media on canvas, Butterflies are Free, 12 x 12 inches.

  1. You are so talented .. Love seeing your work. I was wondering .. would you like a couple of WW11 sugar bags.. maybe you could do something creative with them .. it would be easy enough to put a couple in the post to you.
