A thing of beauty.

An object of my affection, but something that I would never buy for myself.

After years of admiring these antique wooden stamps, one landed in my hands as a birthday present earlier this month. A big carved piece with the patina of age and use. Because I have a friend or two who instinctively know what I like, friends who tailor their gift to my taste, not theirs. I like to think that I'm that kind of a friend, too.
