I was on my way to bed last night, or more accurately this morning at around 1 a.m., when my eye fell on my easel where a blank canvas was waiting to be painted. Before I knew it, I was in front of it, painting, oblivious to the time. This isn't unusual for me.

The thought crossed my mind that I should stop midway and photograph it in the morning to keep track of the process, but I couldn't; I knew I wouldn't sleep if I didn't keep going. By 3 a.m. it was finished. I washed my brushes, and continued my bedtime routine. And slept the good sleep.

Acrylic on canvas, 12 x12 in.

  1. I like your painting. I also understand how easy it is to lose track of time when the creative juices are flowing. From a fellow Canadian one hour north east of Toronto. :)
