After I put this piece together, I came across the subject of collagraph making, and it seems that what I've created here is a collagraph in reverse. With collagraphs, as the name suggests, collage is added to the plate which is then painted and pressed on a background paper to create a print. What I did here was simply collage the monoprint itself and seal it.
Why not?
Simplicity is the removal of the useless and the unnecessary--source unknown
