It is fitting, especially today.

Steve’s final words, hours earlier, were monosyllables, repeated three times. 

Before embarking, he’d looked at his sister Patty, then for a long time at his children, then at his life’s partner, Laurene, and then over their shoulders past them. [my italics]


Steve’s final words were:
OH WOW. OH WOW. OH WOW.

  1. I've had that experience... my mom looked past me and spoke to someone just before her death. As amazing as this is... wouldn't it be more so to know what or who they saw? I take this as proof that death is not final!
