At the end of a busy day.

I traded a painting for two hair appointments, and had the first one today. Having my hair cut and styled always lifts my spirits.

Walked downtown to take advantage of a sunny day.

Spent some time in the library losing myself in some gorgeous Turners (two big books filled with colour photos of his paintings), and a chat with my favourite librarian, Sara.

I finally did the deed and tried wholewheat pasta for dinner. I'm not thrilled. The texture is strange -- OK, different --  anathema for a pasta lover. I made a killer sauce for it (puttanesca), hoping to minimize the wholewheatness of the thing, and threw in some chunks of low-fat camembert which melts and turns the tomato sauce nice and creamy.

And I indulged in some black and white painting.

  1. Une belle fin de journée,j'aime l'oiseau sur bannière .
    Merci pour ta visite.

  2. Sound like a nice full day. I don't like whole grain pasta either.

Sweet black and white art there.

  3. Hello, my dear,
We are in Europe (France, right now!!!). Havng just a wonderful time. This is good medicine for both Jud and me. Back to Barcelona tomorrow, home on Sunday.
    Big the bird,

  4. You're reminding me to get an appointment for my hair - I'm way overdue (as usual). As for the wholewheat pasta, 1) it's an acquired taste, 2) tastes better depending on the dish, 3) try different brands. My kids hate it but husband and I don't mind it at all now.

  5. I don't like whole wheat pasta at all. Spaghetti squash is really yummy with sauce though.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate each and every one of you.
