Salvaging is part of art making.
If you don't like what you've done, the urge is to throw it away. Instead, you look at it carefully and cut out the parts that you like -- there are always parts that are worth salvaging.

  2. Your salvage philosophy in art-making is very clever, Colette. We have a piece of art that was made by a friend's sister, an artist, using a discarded canvas (she was also an art professor in Wisconsin); that was the premise of a series of her creations. (Sadly she died in her sleep of a brain aneurysm but a sister of hers in Montreal adopted her young daughter and now the daughter goes to my children's school if you can believe).
