Decluttering

I used the long weekend to rest and declutter my mind. I believe that along with decluttering our space, our closets and our computers, our minds need occasional decluttering too. I give myself a little time to process things, and then declutter, reorder my priorities and move forward. I saw this quotation (I don't know who said it) a long time ago that stuck with me: it was about cultivating inner peace amid the "noise" of the world around you. It's a very difficult thing to do, but one of the ways I do it is to paint.

I wish you peace amid the noise.

  1. That's such an interesting comment. I never really thought about decluttering the mind but it does make sense. I suppose we sometimes do this without realising, but to make the time to do it could be a godsend!

  2. I do not know how to find the time to do a mind de-clutter . But I do know this it is catch 22... Julie

  3. I need some of that decluttering for sure.... and so does my computer and art studio. Perhaps I will take this long weekend to do so. Thanks for the inspiration :)

  4. Quite a few years ago my sister in law told me she gave up "noise" for lent. Extra tv, radio, etc. It was a new concept for me. I thought about that for a long time and began to cut noise out of my life. I love my "solitude" even though I have six kids at least I only have their chatter in my ears!
