[Shadows, acylic/oil on canvas, 14x18 in. (c) Colette Copeland]
I haven't painted on canvas for along time because I ran out of space. I'm taking some paintings to my sister next month, so in anticipation of more space, I filled a need to put brush to canvas. You'll see that Catherine Moore has crept into my work again. I wanted to add a collage element to the painting, and the dress was perfect.

The words are from a line of poetry, the only line I remember that a classmate from Lycée Janson de Sailly in Paris wrote in one of her letters. Eva was from Gothenburg, Sweden, and I've never forgotten her or these words she sent me.
The photo doesn't do it justice. One of these days, I'm going to have to trade my little digi for a better version....but first, I must sell some paintings!
I am thrilled to see your paintings .. Love them. THat's how I first discovered your blog/etsy..your darling watercolors! Of course..all your art is wonderful. THere's just something about it that speaks to me.
