Sunday and there is snow

No doubt about it, it is winter. The weather was so noisy all night that I hardly slept, until I got in a couple of hours in the early morning. Instead of cursing the lack of sleep, I pulled out my watercolors and created this for my Christmas cards, while Hamlet droned on TCM. I've never liked Laurence Olivier and never understood the hullaballoo over him...."there are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio..."

As for Hamlet himself, I heartily agree with Gérard Dépardieu, when he said Hamlet bored the s*** out of him..."He's such an intellectual. Give me Macbeth any day."

So:

I was planning on visiting Carmi at the One of a Kind show, but tempus fugit and with all my own show preparations, I haven't managed it. I hope she goes home tonight having sold everything!

Last night's so-called cassoulet was a success. Given that I didn't have the right beans, or the duck, I made up my own recipe using blackeyed peas, a cornish hen that I roasted and cut apart, and low-fat garlic sausage, along with the rest of the ingredients. Miam miam, as they say in France.

And this little feathered friend is nesting here. Chirp!

  2. Beautiful birdie cards...so soft and sweet. Never much of a Hamlet fan either...but Gerard D. YES! I love him and his eyes....soulful. The cassoulet sounds delicious...I admit I have never tasted duck. Sounds wonderful and a hearty for an autumn night.
