A year in the making

[edit: I posted the wrong photo earlier. This is the finished product. Available at etsy]

This idea has been in my head for a year. I had seen quilts with objects attached, and I wanted to attach a tiny doll. But where to find the doll? I searched every so often, found ones that were too big or didn't appeal to me, but I didn't obsess about it. Then one day, there was a quartet of tiny antique dollies on auction that I could afford. So I bid, all the while prepared to lose to a high bidder. I set a price limit, and left it alone. I won the dolls, then started to design the quilt. That took a while too, going back and forth, trying this and that.
