Almond tree in blossom

My homage to Monet. Oil on acrylic on canvas.

I usually paint in acrylic, but there are times I add oils because I can create effects not possible with acrylics. I especially love oil sticks, using them like crayons that I can draw with, then smudge and push around...

  1. Wow, it's beautiful, I love the colours. Have you tried the water-soluble oils now available? I have been playing with them and the effect they give is different but nice.. Although I do not profess to be at all good when it comes to drawing and painting - it's more of a hobby.

    Lovely site too :)

  2. this is beautiful Colette, i like it a lot. it reminds me of the story 'The Selfish Giant' by Oscar Wilde, this is how i always imagined the tree at the end of the story to look like.
