History

[quilt (c) colette copeland]
I've been collecting images of Native Americans (we call them Native Canadians, First Nations, or Aboriginal Peoples, but in fact they are Native North Americans).
This young Tewa has an elaborate hairstyle that caught my eye. So I set about coffee-dying canvas and lace, tearing, stitching, trimming and creating this piece.

  1. Your beautiful art quilt arrived today. I am so in love with it and it is even MORE fabulous than I thought. And I thought it was pretty darn fabulous to begin with:) The red velvet heart is such a wonderful color and I love to feel all the different textures and surfaces. Thank you so much sweetie. I will be featuring it on the blog next week:) Love, Jamie
