In the still of the night

[(c) colette copeland]
At around 11 p.m. last night, I painted this canvas panel as I listened to The Daily News (I watch Jon Stewart over all the others because at least he gives it to you straight!). Three hours later, I was almost finished. Let it not be said that I don't know when to stop. I would let everything settle, and then put the finishing touches on in the morning. I was inspired by Amy Hanna, she of the beautiful jewelry, who hangs jewels on her canvasses, several all on the same one, but I'm too chicken: one piece was enough!

  1. I know how you feel about getting started on something and then just not stopping... i started around 12 pm last night twisting wire to make a bracelet... or necklace... or something with a chain. while it is my first time making my own chain, i really got into it and just kept going and going... it was around 3 before i decided it was finally time for bed lol.

And, my dear protégée, it takes years of work and more work to get here. So keep at it!
