All in the family

The snow has gone, oil on canvas (c) Bruce Copeland

My eldest brother-in-law, Bruce Copeland, has taken up landscape painting. This is one of my favorite pieces.
A Wexford man, he lives in County Wicklow, Ireland, which has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. He has been through a lot of heartache over the years, but in true Copeland fashion, has come through stronger and better. Next week, he will be marrying his long-time partner, Olivia. The second time around, in this case, is the solid one.

People often wonder that, after all these many years since the death of my husband, I stay in touch with my in-laws. Well, yes. We are family, and we always will be. My late mother-in-law wanted me to get married again, "Just make sure he's good to you," she would say, the very same words my own mother used to say. Well, Ma, it hasn't happened yet, but when it does, you'll be the first to know (you'll probably know before I do)! Meanwhile, I'm enjoying life one day at a time, and I know, tough and independent bird that she was, she approves!

  1. your brother's painting truly is beautifull... I love the blues. Remarrying is a BIG step, but if you find the right person , go for it! I think I am too set in my ways now! HA!

  2. Your brother-in-law's painting is lovely. And of course you'd keep in touch with the family - after all, they're your family too! xo
