Bourne follies

The haze is gone and I'm looking forward to a nice ramble in the ravine later on. Meanwhile I've been sewing. I envisage this little bag filled with lavender or herbs or both, gently scenting the air....

True to my word, yesterday I went to see The Bourne Ultimatum. I went to see it, which doesn't mean I did see it. I thought I'd catch the matinee before the evening rush. I was wrong. The place was crowded and I don't like crowds. Not one jot. So I postponed it and went book browsing instead. At one point I sat on the floor and pored over Shabby Chic (Rachel ? -- I always forget her name). I do that once in a while because I'm not about to pay $45 plus tax for the book. Then I went to the magazine section -- I can't believe the number of magazines that are published and wonder if half of them are making any money at all. Some magazines are so obscure, I can't figure out the demographic, never mind the purpose. Advertorial magazines I have nothing to say about. In my day, mixing the two was a no-no. Editorial and advertising couldn't overlap, but slowly the line began to blur and editorial had to start cowtowing to the advertisers. (Why is everything always about money...?)

  1. everything is all about money because most people think that is what life is all about. The sooner they forget that silliness and realize that life is all about our spirit and enjoying our time here, the better.
sometimes, I wish I could escape the rat race of humanity and live in a cottage somewhere in Cornwall.. with my herbs, my soul and my crystals xoxo

  6. Lovely bag. And yes, too many publications are driven strictly by money. What's that old saying - money makes the world go 'round? xo
