Collage (c) Colette Copeland

Even though I haven't made much of a dent yet in my making space/clearing out efforts, I feel lighter today, as if that little dark cloud hanging over me has dissipated. Instead of fighting it, I did yoga, went downtown to see a friend, browsed in Chapters, came home and made a couple of quilties I'm happy with. It take practice not to get lost in that little dark cloud, a prisoner of your own mind, but to change gears. This is difficult when you're sinking, it's so much easier to sink than fight to get up, but fight you must because you've been there often enough to remember how hopeless the "easier" route is. Perhaps that's why we repeat mistakes again and again, so that we can "get it" and move out of the trap.

Tonight I have flamenco class -- guaranteed to make me happy. It's no accident that we're working on alegrias (alegria = cheerfulness).

  1. I'm so glad you enjoying your flamenco classes! And yes, it does take practice not to get lost in the little dark cloud - shifting gears is absolutely the key. You inspire me so much with your wisdom and your beautiful art. xo

  2. I couldn't agree more...I had a darkish cloud the last few days- her name was Hormona - I had to fight her a bit but I am determined to win. I much prefer sunny over cloudy any day. You are always so wise!!
    XOXO

And I am sure your Flamenco class (with the very appropriate name) helped bring some cheer into your day.
